Toby Francis Calder Finnett lived life to the full; enthusiastically embracing every adventure and opportunity that presented itself, whilst gathering countless friends and experiences along the way that far surpassed his 15 years on this earth. Toby sadly passed away in a tragic and unfortunate boating accident in the Greek Islands on July 14th 2018.

 

Toby was born in Houston, Texas to British parents in January 2003. Despite those origins, Toby always considered himself British and loved England, especially West Sussex, where he would spend every summer whilst growing up enjoying East Preston beach and its beautiful surrounding countryside. 

 

Toby's loving Dad Paul, along with his wife Amanda thought long and hard about establishing an appropriate vehicle in the UK to help support troubled teenagers in Toby's name. Toby's love of music and Amanda's previous donations and involvement with Waves Music Therapy inspired them to create a fund in his name. Waves Music Therapy are grateful and proud to be representing Toby's legacy through the Toby Finnett Music Therapy Fund. 

 

The fund will ensure that vulnerable "at risk" children and young adults can have the opportunity to engage in supportive therapy sessions. Toby's Fund aims to support children suffering from complex trauma and/or emotional and behavioural issues with specialist music therapy. Giving children access to music therapy when other more mainstream therapy sessions may have failed will help them reach their potential and more importantly help them enjoy a better quality of life.
